A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON SIGNS AND BANNERS

In the world of modernization, we still follow the trend of using signs and banners to communicate for various purposes. Signs and banners are two means of communication to connect with a specific group for marketing or advocacy.  These two processes are used to convey and deliver the message for a specific brand or purpose. Now we will have a brief study on the major types of signs and banners all over the world.

Types of Signs:

In this blue earth, Signs Washington DC is becoming a necessity to express a specific message or promote a specific brand to a particular section of people. According to Pierce's theory of signs, signs are of three types:

1.Icon:  An icon can be defined as a sign which includes a character that portrays the identity or significance, yet there is no resemblance between the object and the significance. For example, A geographical structure representing a country.

2.Index:  An index can be defined as a sign which has any evidence of the object being represented. It doesn't resemble the object being represented but resembles the significance of the object. For example: "Dark clouds" index rain, "smoke" index fire, "red light" index to stop.

3.Symbol: A symbol has no connection between the object and its significance. It can be defined as a sign which may lose the character that signifies it when there is none to interpret it. For example Musical notes, numbers, flags, etc.

Types of Banners:
After a vivid study on signs, we will have a brief description of the banners and their types, which aids in promoting a brand or a product of a specific brand to the market. A banner is a long strip material with slogans, product descriptions, content representing a company, organization, and other entities. There are various categories of the banner for a different purposes:

1.Pull-Up & Retractable Banners:  These banners are also known as roll-up banners which are meant to be attractive, double-sided shows for both internal and external purposes. Pull-up banners are six feet tall with varying widths and are easy to collapse and transport.

2.Pop-Up Booths and Displays: This type of display is a traditional form of getting the attention that is used by extending across the exhibition.

3.Vinyl Banners: These banners are meant mainly for outdoor shows. Vinyl banners vary from medium to large size and are easily visible from > 1-meter distance. They are heavy-weighted compared to clothed banners.

4. Fabric Banners:  These banners are mainly meant for indoor shows, unlike vinyl banners. Banners are mainly made of polyester or satin designed with fabric and a perfect solution for every business. Fabric banners can be used as window displays, table cloths, curtains, etc.

5. Suspended & Hanging Banners: These banners are meant to be hung either from the rod or ceiling to make the whole crowd visible for promoting a specific brand or company. They come with holes throughout the banner to become resistant to strong wind.

Conclusion:

Every business entity requires Commercial Signs in Washington DC and banners to promote their brand or a specific product to the outside world. Therefore, It's very important to use proper signs and banners for a specified purpose at a proper place which will drive you in a better direction in the future.
